The Big Picture

Your information belongs to you. We treat it that way.

This Privacy Policy explains, in plain English, what we collect when you visit business-impact.ca or work with us, what we do with it, who else sees it, and how to remove it if you want to.

The Fine Print

1. Who we are.

“We,” “us,” and “Business Impact” mean Business Impact Coaching Inc., an Alberta corporation with a mailing address at 139 Juniper Ave, Sherwood Park, AB T8A 2C6. Our website is business-impact.ca. The brands BI Coaching, AI Consulting, and BIZcraft are all delivered by us under that company.

2. What we collect.

You give us:

Your name, email, phone number, and business name when you fill out a form, book a call, take an assessment, or sign up for a newsletter.
Information about your business — revenue ranges, industry, team size, goals — when you complete the AI Readiness Assessment, the BIZcraft self-assessment, or any intake form.
Billing information when you buy something. Our payment processor handles your card directly — we don’t store full card numbers.
Anything you tell us inside coaching sessions, support emails, or community channels.

The website collects automatically:

Pages you visit, time on page, where you came from, what device and browser you used.
Cookies that remember your preferences and let analytics work.
IP address, approximate location, and similar technical details.

We don’t collect more than we need. We don’t ask for things we won’t use.

3. Why we collect it.

Deliver what you asked for — send the report, run the call, answer the email, ship the program.
Run our business — process payments, schedule sessions, maintain accounts.
Improve — figure out which pages are useful, which emails get opened, which programs land.
Stay in touch — newsletters, program updates, and offers, only if you’ve opted in.
Meet legal and tax obligations.

4. Who else sees it.

We use trusted third-party services to actually run things. They see only what they need to do their job:

Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) — to take payments.
Email and CRM platforms (e.g., GoHighLevel, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, ScoreApp) — to send you emails you’ve opted in to and track engagement.
Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) — to understand site traffic in aggregate.
Scheduling tools (e.g., Calendly, GHL booking) — to book calls.
Cloud storage and document tools (e.g., Google Workspace) — to store documents and notes.

We don’t sell your information. We don’t trade it. We don’t share it with other clients.

We’ll only disclose your information beyond the above if (a) you tell us to, (b) it’s required by law, court order, or regulator, or (c) we sell or merge the business — in which case the new owner takes on these same obligations.

5. Cookies and tracking.

Our website uses cookies — small text files that help the site work, remember your settings, and let us see what’s working. You can turn cookies off in your browser; if you do, parts of the site may not work properly.

We don’t currently honour “Do Not Track” browser signals because there’s no agreed standard for what they mean. If that changes, we’ll update this section.

6. How long we keep it.

We keep client records for as long as you’re a client and for 7 years after the engagement ends, which is what Canadian tax and accounting rules require. Marketing-list data we keep until you unsubscribe. Form submissions and assessment results we keep until they’re no longer useful for serving you.

7. Your rights.

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:

See what we have about you.
Correct anything that’s wrong.
Delete what we hold (except information we’re legally required to keep).
Withdraw consent to marketing emails — just hit unsubscribe at the bottom of any of our emails.
Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Alberta Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner if you think we’ve handled your data badly.

To use any of these rights, email info@business-impact.ca with “Privacy” in the subject line. We aim to respond within 30 days.

8. How we protect it.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards — encrypted connections (HTTPS) on the website, password-protected accounts on our tools, two-factor authentication on systems that hold sensitive data, and limited access on a need-to-know basis.

We won’t pretend we can promise perfection. No system is 100% breach-proof. If something does happen that affects your data, we’ll notify you as required by law.

9. Data outside Canada.

Some of the tools we use store data on servers in the United States or elsewhere. By using our website and services, you understand and agree that your information may be processed outside of Canada, and that those countries’ privacy laws may differ from Canada’s.

10. Kids.

Our services are for adult business owners. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, please email us and we’ll delete it.

11. Linking out.

The website occasionally links to third-party sites — articles, tools, partners. Once you leave business-impact.ca, their privacy policy applies, not ours. Read theirs before you hand over anything sensitive.

12. Changes to this policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version always lives at business-impact.ca/privacy with the date last updated. Continuing to use the site after an update means you’ve accepted the new version. If we ever make a major change in how we handle your data, we’ll email everyone we have an address for.
